“We make a living by what we get,
but we make a life by what we give.”

Winston Churchill

We must teach our young generation to be accountable for their social responsibility and  to serve mankind . Aimed at developing students personality through community service, students of Doon Valley Public School have taken up  the National Service Scheme (NSS), an Indian Government sponsored public service program conducted by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India as a part of our academic ,social and personal life. The symbol of NSS is ‘Wheel’ which denotes dynamism and progress  . The motto “ NOT ME BUT YOU “ embodies service of others before self, as the welfare of the individual depends on welfare of the society as a whole . To this effect various activities are organized by NSS UNIT of school to sensitize our young minds.

Students of Doon Valley Public School has been serving  the society being NSS volunteers with the following community outreach tasks :

  1. Cleanliness drive in adopted village Kishanpura.
  2. Tree plantation in surrounding villages.
  3. Water conservation and rain water harvesting practice in school
  4. Awareness campaigns for nutritious food

For the current session  2021-2022 a team of 101  NSS volunteers of DVPS have already participated in Awareness campaigns via digital platform on Anti – tobacco day , Environment Day celebration with Plantation Drive and International Yoga Day celebration.

We feel privileged to be part of NSS where we are able to inculcate the values of  social and civic responsibility  among our youth and sensitizing  them to make this world a better place for every creature.
